"Shine a Light"

Campaign info:

Make a difference for only $10.00. Provide a solar puff to subsistence farmers in the Central Plateau of Haiti.
There are over 10 million people in Haiti. Of those, 75% -80% do not have access to electricity. Most rely on kerosene lamps or flashlights. Through the "Shine a Light" campaign, we will bring light to 50,000 subsistance farmers.

The Solar Puff charges in about 4 hours and provides 8 to 12 hours of light. The compact, highly durable and weather proof device lasts 2 to 5 years. It will allow recipients to:

  • Save $100 to $300 per year. Once the "Shine a Light" campaign is complete the community will likely save over $1,800,000 per year!
  • Increase productivity by over 3 hours per day whether for studying or business after the 5pm sunsets.  Collectively over 50 million hours per year!
  • Improve general health with a marked decrease in lung cancer, asthma, other pulmonary disorders and avoidance of fires that are caused by kerosene lamps.
  • Improve the environment through the cutting of fewer trees.
  • Reduce violence against women and children.  It is estimated that violence increases by 20% in certain communities when there are black outs.
For every $10 contribution you are tangibly changing lives!  Learn more about the Solar Puff.

The Haiti Project

The Haiti Project is a nationwide fundraising and awareness campaign that will generate substantial financial support and media awareness in support of critical humanitarian efforts in Haiti. Led by The Global Syndicate, this collaborative effort unites socially-conscious individuals in support of real action on the ground in Haiti! The effort brings about highly targeted, informative and powerful events in key cities across the United States. All proceeds go to supporting existing non-profit organizations that provide lifesaving education, healthcare, and economic development services to Haitian men, women, and children living on the island - a majority of which survive on less than two dollars per day.

The 501c-3 non-profit organizations listed below are currently the direct beneficiaries of The Haiti Project. Selected for their proven ability to effect change, specifically in health, education and economic development, these organizations will submit rigorous program reports to The Global Syndicate that detail the impact of every dollar.
